Poem: Eyes

I’d write my life away
Before I tell you
What you already know.
Heaven has been selective lately
Because they only made you
Carry this much beauty
Beauty that generates ideas
About a future…you might not ever know
A future where I was rich
Holding you down
All you would have to do
Is look my way
I wouldn’t even touch you right away
I’d just watch
From a building so tall
While you relaxed
By a pool
Let the income be your shield
Protecting you from doubt
Let me be your sword
Piercing happiness into your voice
The same way you impaled my sight
With beauty that flowed
With a rainbow Aura
I could be new to love
And still know
That I’ve fallen for you
At first sight
